Fees and Payments
We charge $150 per hour per person with a 3-hour minimum upon establishing a new client relationship. Many ask what does the fee cover? The fee covers all time spent preparing for, conducting, and closing the mediation. Our time spent on a case is rounded to the nearest half hour. We do not charge for travel time within a 50 mile radius of Livonia, Michigan. Payment options are available upon request.
Other Expenses
Clients are responsible for required out-of-pocket expenses, if any. Examples of other expenses are baby sitters, counselors, CPA's and appraisers.
Cancellations
No charge for cancellations made five (5) business days or longer from the original date of the mediation. The deposit will be forfeited if the meeting is cancelled by either party within four (4) business days of the mediation conference. No forfeiture of deposit shall occur if the meeting is mutually rescheduled by all parties to the dispute within five (5) business days of the original date of the conference and the new meeting date is within thirty (30) business days of the original date of the conference.

Retainer
A retainer is collected when the initial 3 hours of service is expended and both parties desire to continue mediating. The retainer is your bank to pay for future mediation services. The amount of the retainer is negotiable, but will be at least 2 additional hours of mediation per person.
Surplus Retainer
If all issues brought to mediation are resolved or a party drops out before a retainer is expended, the excess retainer amount will be refunded within five (5) business days of the date of closure of the mediation session.
Balances Owed
Balances owed must be delivered to Domestic Mediation, LLC within 30 days of the date of completion of the mediation conference.
